“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
Being forced to figure out how to support myself at 18 years old without having an education or career caused me to feel worthless. At the time, I believed my worth came from having a good occupation, education, and solid accomplishments. Within two weeks, I went from having a roof over my head, a car, a steady job, and taking college classes to not knowing where I would live, how to acquire transportation, where I would work, and if college was an option anymore. All I could focus on was how I was going to survive. Through this experience, I learned that there was nothing I could do to earn or deserve my worth. It was given to me by God when He died for me on the cross, which makes me valuable.
We are infinitely valuable to God because of the price He paid on the cross to make us worthy; therefore, each of us is equal to the next person, regardless of occupation, net worth, or education.
Everything that God, the Great Artist, creates is breathtaking, including you. He embroidered you with great skill and made you so mysteriously complex, shaping you from nothing into something. God planned out your days, and every single one of them was written in His book before any of them came into existence. As a result, he cherishes you in His every thought, and you are precious to Him.
